Still without Internet at the new pad. Jesses mom and step father are visiting. Have been painting. Accidentally painted dining area the color of home depot, but changed it to a nice orange dreamcicle. Am uncomfortable with the idea of LJ disappearing, as I'm afraid of losing a timeline and access to myself in previous years. Will write more and provide subjects to my verbs when the Internet finally comes to the house.

The end.

The thing that bums me out about that option is the "one month at a time without comments" bit. :-(

LJ disappearing? What? I know it's been down a lot with DDoS attacks yet again, but I didn't hear anything about it disappearing. NOW YOU HAVE FRIGHTENED ME.

Also...

Happy painting :-)

Maybe not disappearing, but less and less populated and with more and more issues. I was thinking about starting a teaching blog where I'd write only about teaching. Public blogs with clear foci are kind of boring to me though, and I like my LJ peeps and still wish all of them would write more. It seems strange to me that, like, five years ago, internet journals encouraged people to write their lives, even if their lives were grocery lists and chores. What did all of the people do with the urge to write? Is it back on paper in a closet somewhere? Do they leave it all to an annual holiday letter?

I was just lamenting this in another person's LJ (and mine, a little), too. I wish the Russians would just get all of this sorted out so that people wouldn't get fed up and leave even more quickly than they already are. My f'list is pretty quiet these days, and sometimes I wonder why I post. But I still post for myself as much as anyone, so I haven't given up yet.

*Edit* I am also shite at reading people's "outside" blogs (outside of LJ, that is). One friend always links to his blog here in LJ so that I can just click over to it, and I'm grateful for that because honestly? I never bother reading blogs if they aren't right here in LJ. Too many different sites, too many demand passwords which are too taxing for my ever-shrinking brain to remember. Bah.

I don't know what happened to everyone. Facebook took over for a lot of the instant communication, but has everyone all gotten too busy (or bored) to write all of a sudden? I don't know. It's sad, though. I miss my f'list.

I sure hope that's not where LJ is headed. I'd be sad to lose some of my entries as they mark points in my life that I wish to keep and remember for always.

Hope you have internet soon!!

It's so nice to be able to look at a big screen again instead of just my little phone.
